5-Star Review of Mayhem!

As always, Linda Guyan’s book was a pleasure to read. Mayhem is a wonderful story that turns the meaning of murder mystery on its head. Linda Guyan has become my favorite murder mystery author and I very much look forward to reading more of her work! When looking for a new and refreshing take on the murder mystery genre, I would definitely recommend any of Linda Guyan’s novels, but especially the Black Shadow Series.

Mayhem is expertly written with intricate, well-developed characters and a story line that is never boring. There are so many plot twists and fourth wall breaks in this book that it is hard to keep track! Any readers who choose to read Mayhem are in for a great treat.

Mayhem continues where Murder left off in the Black Shadow Series, with Meg Ryder searching for the answers as to who killed her best friend Eve Collins. At least in Laura Drake’s novel that is. In reality it has been twelve years since Laura wrote Murder. After twelve years Laura has finally returned to Castlebay, the inspiration for her fictional Shady Lake. Come to finish what she started, Laura writes her second book and, finishing her novel, she decides to take a detour to visit an old lady whose card had been slipped under her door. As she nears the old lady’s house, coincidences start to add up and Laura starts to question her reality. Who is Laura Drake?
